Mountain gorillas are currently the top tourism attraction of Uganda, with over 80% of tourists to the country embarking on the gorilla tracking activity.
Gorilla Tracking Fees are at USD 700 per person (normal permissions) while a Gorilla habituation experience permit costs USD 1500 to spend up to four hours with a habituated Gorilla family. At Afro Gorilla Safaris, we offer a number of packages for gorilla tracking activities to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga National Park. These can also be altered depending on the client’s preferences.
Of all the three Mountain Gorilla Destinations in the world, Rwanda Gorillas are the easiest to track regarding the terrain and landscape of the Volcanoes National Park that is a bit flatter as compared to other Gorilla parks such as Bwindi Forest of Uganda.
Gorilla Permissions in Rwanda cost USD 1500 per person for an allowance to spend with these peaceful gigantic primates an hour of contact time, monitoring their daily way of life and capturing the moment on Camera.
Democratic Republic of Congo is the cheapest destination to track mountain Gorillas. Tracking permissions are at only USD 400 per person. Mountain Gorillas in Congo are found in Virunga National Park.
Though Congo as a country is mainly affected by political Instabilities, Gorilla trekkers are ensured of Security right from the border of Rwanda & Congo throughout the activity up to the accommodation facilities.
Currently there are no Mountain Gorilla trekking activities taking place in Congo but one can go for the Eastern Low Land Gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
