3 Day Exciting Gorilla Trek in Mgahinga.
On this exciting excursion you will visit Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the South Western part of Uganda on Uganda’s border with Democratic Republic of Congo granting you opportunities of meeting with the shy endangered ground dwelling Mountain Gorillas in the Jungles.
On arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be picked by our Safari guide and transfer you up to your booked hotel of residence either in Kampala city.
Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Mgahinga
On day one of the Safari early in the morning have breakfast and after embark the Safari jeep for an exciting journey from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the South western part of Uganda via Kampala- Masaka- Mbarara highway.
En route stop over at the equator before reaching Masaka town for brief explanation about equator, photos and snacks is included. After continue with the journey, another stopover in Mbarara for lunch, after lunch the Journey continues up to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Dinner and Overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge or Travellers’ Rest.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga.
Have early morning delicious breakfast and after transfer up to the Park offices or starting point in Mgahinga with your packed lunch for the short briefing conducted to highlight trekkers on how to behave while in the Jungle and in presence of Mountain Gorillas.
There is only one habituated Gorilla family trekked in Mgahinga known as Nyakagezi Gorilla Family
After briefing, journey to the Jungle is started with the Park ranger guide following the well-established routes searching for these apes
After locating them in the Jungle you are allowed to be in their presence for only one hour while seeing them playing with young ones, feeding, laughing plus taking photos and videos of them, after one hour session next is vacating the place back to Park offices for Gorilla trekking certificate award.
After Certificate award return to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge or Kisoro Travellers Hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Kampala for Return flight
Have your morning breakfast at the lodge and after check out for your exciting journey back to Kampala including the en route stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch at Agip Motel.
After lunch continue with the Journey back to Kampala, our guide will drop you off at the airport if you have a return flight that day or hotel of residence if you are to stay.
