10 day Uganda Wildlife Safari, Gorillas and Chimpanzees

This Uganda Safari takes you to different Uganda’s major National parks for Wildlife, these Parks to go include Murchison falls National Park, Kibale forest, Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks.

Different activities to be done on this ten day Uganda Safari include Chimp tracking, Chimpanzee habituation, Game drives, Gorilla trekking, Launch trip cruises and more. On arrival you will be picked by our safari guide from Entebbe international airport and transfer up to your hotel of residence in Kampala.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Early in the morning check out for the drive from Kampala with our guide to Murchison Falls National Park in the North Western Uganda via Kampala-Masindi- Gulu highway, this Park is known to be Uganda’s largest park and home to 451 bird species and 76 mammal species.

Stopover in Nakitoma-Nakasongola for Rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in included. After Rhino tracking continue with Journey to Murchison and check in at the lodge. Accommodation Options include Red Chilli, Sambiya River Lodge or Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and Launch trip cruise in Murchison.

After breakfast at the lodge in the morning embark the Safari jeep for the morning game drive around Murchison’s hotspots exposing you to different Wildlife species including Wild animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopard, Impala, Kobs and more plus different other species within range.

After 2-3 hours game drive head back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon launch trip cruise along waters of the falls.

This Launch trip cruise from top of falls to bottom of the falls grants you opportunities of sighting different aquatic species including hippopotamus, crocodiles, and different species of water birds.

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park.

On day three enjoy your early breakfast at the lodge and then check out for the drive to Kibale Forest National Park, you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey to be a bit more exciting and adventurous.

Lunch is provided en route in Fort portal town and after continue with the drive associated with great views of Mountain Ruwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge, you could go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland which is home to different birds and primate species.

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge, accommodation options to stay include Ndali lodge, Chimp nest lodge or Primate Lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale – then transfer to Queen.

After breakfast in the morning be at the Park offices for a briefing about how to behave while in the Jungle and in presence of Chimpanzee primates, Kibale forest is among the exciting places popularly known for different primates and several crater lakes within Uganda.

Chimp tracking is usually done in a group and after locating them you are allowed to stay in their presence for some time whereby this close encounter will reward you with a memorable experience on your trip.

After lunch check out for a drive to Mweya peninsula in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the evening.

Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Some of the accommodation options to stay includes Simba safari camp, Ihamba safari lodge or Mweya safari lodge.

Day 5: Game drive & Launch trip cruise in Queen

Have early breakfast and after set off for a game drive through Kasenyi track and other tracks where you are exposed to different wildlife species including Wild animals like antelopes, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards plus different bird species.

Queen Elizabeth has diversity of Uganda’s ecosystems including Savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests and over 600 bird species which live in the park.

After 2-3 hour game drive head back to the lodge or Mweya Canteen for lunch and relaxation as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, this is one of the most memorable and exciting experiences done in the park exposing you to different aquatic species.

After experiencing the true Queen’s wilderness, head back to the lodge for relaxation after a great experiential day, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking & Forest Walk

Have morning breakfast and after be in for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge and guided forest walk in Maramagambo forest exposing you to different wildlife species including birds species, python and bat caves. After head back to the lodge for relaxation as you prepare for an evening game drive through the Park.

Day 7: Transfer from Queen to Bwindi for Gorillas.

Have morning breakfast and after check out for transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector and if you are lucky you will have a chance to sight tree climbing lions on your way to Bwindi.

Lunch is provided enroute and after continue with your journey combined with amazing and spectacular views of banana, tea plantations and overall green vegetation of the area.

On reaching the park check in at lodge. Some of the accommodation Options include Buhoma community camp or Buhoma lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking and Community walk -Bwindi

After morning breakfast transfer to park offices with your guide, for a briefing about how to behave while in the jungle with gorillas. After journey to the Jungle is started in a group of eight people plus park rangers and armed officers following well established trails in search of these apes.

Locating these apes in the Jungle you are allowed to stay in their presence for only one hour while seeing them playing with young ones, feeding, laughing plus taking photos and videos of them.

It’s advised that when heading for the Gorilla trek you come along with your packed food for eating while in the Jungle. After Gorilla trek head back to the lodge for relaxation as you prepare for evening community walk

In the evening, you will go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa people in their local communities for interaction, and also experience their ways of living in their local communities. Head back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

Have breakfast in the morning and after drive to Lake Mburo National Park, which takes about 6-7 hours for the drive. You will go through the outstanding scenery in Kabale which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations and more.

Lunch is provided enroute in Mbarara and then after continue to Lake Mburo National Park which is home to over 332 bird species, covering a total area of 371 km2.

Different animals use it as their home including buffaloes, Zebras, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, reedbucks and more.

Reaching the Park you will have a boat cruise on Lake Mburo exposing you to different aquatic species including birds, crocodiles, hippos, zebras among others.

Check in at the lodge. Some of the accommodation options include Mihingo lodge, Rwakobo lodge or Rwonyo Rest Camp.

Day 10: Return to Kampala

After early morning breakfast, be in for early game drive exposing you to different Wildlife species particularly Wild animals like zebras, Impalas, warthogs, antelopes and more.

Drive as you move out of the Park proceeding with your journey to Kampala arriving in Kampala in evening. Our Safari guide will drop you either at your hotel of residence or Entebbe airport for your return flight back home.
